So, how do you know if your marketing efforts have paid off?

If you're serious about your web site, you should have an idea of how much traffic that you're receiving.  This can determine whether your servers or hosting plan can handle the load or not.

Most web hosting plans include some form of traffic reports, that you can view online to see how your web site is performing.

If you have access to your server's log files, you can generate a detailed analysis of your visitors.  You can see items such as visitors per day, top referrers, keywords used to find your site and so forth.

To determine if you have access to your log files, simply contact your hosting company.

One of the most popular log analysis program is Web Trends. This program has been used by countless thousands to monitor traffic across their web sites.  Another popular program is Webalizer.
